Hometown Hero: Mike Epps hosting free concert at Douglass Park
INDIANAPOLIS — Hometown hero Mike Epps is bringing the ultimate free concert event to the near northeast side of Indianapolis.
The comedian and actor is hosting Mike Epps' Community Concert from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Frederick Douglass Park, located at 1616 E. 25th St.
The free concert event is focused on supporting the positive impacts of art and culture on mental health and wellbeing, especially in the Black community. Performers include Stokely, formerly of Mint Condition; Donell Jones; and Full Force.

Chicago native and award-winning television producer Kyra Epps is on a mission to empower fellow Chicagoans to achieve homeownership and a family legacy.
Best known for her work on HGTV’s highest streamed show, "Buying Back The Block," Kyra and her husband, comedian/actor Mike Epps, worked together to rebuild Mike’s childhood community. Kyra commented on the experience, saying, “The impact from the show was unbelievable. So many people tell us how much it inspired them to rebuild their community.” Read more here.
